How much does it cost to make a video?
There is no simple answer to this question since there are are many factors to take into account before setting a budget? Is this a simple San Francisco video production at a clients office or a more complex shoot in another country? All of our video production projects are fully customized and have different pricing. Whether it’s a commercial for your newest product or a multi-day live streaming event, all video production is crafted to your needs. Though Luma Creative is a high-end production house, we do also offer non-profit discounts. How long does video production take?
Video production timelines can vary quite dramatically depending on your specific needs. We break video production down into three phases: pre-production, production, and post-production. Some shoots require very little pre-production(such as a corporate interview), can be edited within a day, and then delivered within a day after that. Commercial shoots, which often have story creation, location scouts, a handful of crew members and more key players take at least two weeks for pre-production, a few days for production, and then a few weeks for editing and revisions.
In summary, corporate video production can be produced very quickly, whereas commercial video production tends to need more time. Ideally we’d like at least a month for commercial video production. If you’re looking for live streaming video production, most (if not all) of the details happen in the pre-production phase. Then once we go live, the projects starts heading down the finish line.

Are your video shoots covid compliant?
Nothing is more important to us than your health and safety; therefore, Luma Creative has stringent protocols for 100% safe video shoots during the pandemic.
- We have shifted all meetings to be remote prior to any shoots.
- Location scouts are socially distanced and only the key players attend these scouts.
- All crew members are required to wear a mask as well as socially distance as much as possible.
- Before the shoot, our Director of photography or assistant camera carefully wipes down all equipment with Clorox disinfectant wipes or 70% alcohol solution.
- Our team also carries spare masks, gloves, sanitizing wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer.
- All cast and crew snacks and meals are individually wrapped and socially distancing is required for any meals.
- For situations where our cast must be unmasked, we operate at strict distancing and wear facial shields in addition to masks.
- Optional: We send the Client an HDMI feed directly from the camera to see the entire shoot in real-time remotely. (This involves a bit of extra equipment and setup time.)
- Optional: If working with celebrities or VIP’s, we can offer onsite rapid testing of all crew and cast before they are allowed on site.
- Optional: Need a remote editor to have immediate access to the footage? We offer Camera to cloud services for other production companies.
